Big Ear Project – Zambia Visit
As part of our mission to bring faith, hope, and transformation through practical care, the Big Ear Project team travelled to Mufulira, Zambia, to expand our outreach in hearing health and elderly care.
Partnership with Mufulira Health District Office
We were warmly received at the Mufulira Health District Office, where we met with the Deputy Director of Health Services. Our discussions focused on establishing a long-term partnership that will allow us to extend ear and hearing care services to local communities. This collaboration marks an important step in aligning our project with Zambia’s healthcare priorities.
Visit to Mufulira Old People’s Home
Our team also visited the Mufulira Old People’s Home, where we had the privilege of providing free earwax removals and hearing tests to the residents. Many elderly individuals suffer in silence from hearing difficulties, and it was a blessing to offer them both medical attention and compassionate support.
We also met with the Social Services Manager, who shared valuable insights into the needs of the elderly community in Mufulira. Together, we explored opportunities for future cooperation, ensuring that hearing care becomes a regular part of the support provided to the residents.
Looking Ahead
This visit has laid the foundation for a sustainable hearing care program in Mufulira. With God’s help and the support of our partners, the Big Ear Project will continue to bring the gift of hearing to those who need it most.
